Kamide Kizan 3rd 1898-1972
Kamide Kizan is born in Kanazawa in 1898. He is from a family of painter since
the 1st Kamide Kisaburo. He learned Japanese style painting from a Kyoto painter
named Mizuta Chikuho and the ceramic technics from Takahashi Dohachi. He also
learned painting from Adachi Tosen and went to several other kilns.
He became independant in 1927 and opened its own kiln in Sakaedani. He used his
brush with very hich precision. He specialized in very precised work in the traditional
Kutani style. He made very detailed, small and clear motifs. Since 1959 his products
were presented by order of the Imperial house agency to the prime minister of
50 countries.
After his death, his second son Teikishi was named Kamide Kizan and followed
his father's precise work.
